Day 2 in Paris - the greatest cup of hot chocolate EVER

The most important thing first - they make an amazing hot chocolate in Paris.  There was a guy at an outside cart selling them.  It's literally a cup of melted chocolate.  He's just melting it in a pot and pouring it in a cup.  It was my dinner.

This morning, we went to the Musee D'Orsay, which is the second most famous museum in Paris.  I liked it more than the Louvre.  It's a beautiful building that used to be a train station.

It's easy to forget this is French:

After that, it was off to Notre Dame Cathedral:

Here's Saint Dennis, who was decapitated... but just picked up his head and kept on truckin'...

Next, we took a long walk along the Seine river.  There's a tradition that started in the mid-2000s where people leave padlocks ("locks of love") on the bridges over it.  There are locks EVERYWHERE on the bridges.  They're all signed or engraved.

It got so bad, that the weight started causing the "main" lock bridge, Pont des Arts, to crumble.  Earlier this year, crews removed all of the locks from it.  They also took out the chain link fence that people attached them to.  They replaced it with this bizarre wall showing what looks like the AOL guy in a series of adventures.  The locks are still loaded on a dozen other bridges over the Seine.

Tomorrow morning, we leave at 6AM for our train to Belgium.

  Some random notes:

-Here's a picture of a Croque Monsieur.  I had another one today.  So did Nat.

-The price tags in this grocery store are digital:

-It really is called a "Royale with cheese."

Bonne Nuit!
